Our licensed and certified physical therapists at SMC provide the full continuum of services: prevention, diagnosis, consultatation, and treatment. Physical Therapist

Josh Fuxa, PT, DPT

Josh joined the Shenandoah Medical Center in 2010 after graduating from Creighton University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He has special training in dry needling and blood flow restriction and particularly enjoys the orthopedics area of practice. He has taken a special interest in pediatric therapy in recent years, feeling this is an underserved population in the community. Josh loves the variety here at SMC and is grateful for all of the opportunities he has had to serve the community since 2010. Josh is married with 3 children and enjoys sports, spending time with family, and going on adventures!


Physical Therapist

Anna Ruppelt, PT, DPT

Anna joined Shenandoah Medical Center in 2019. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota. She enjoys being a part of the SMC Wellness Rehab team and working with people of all ages and diagnoses. She has a passion for developing creative and individualized exercises and activities to help patients return to their highest level of function and quality of life. Anna is a certified Parkinson's Wellness Recovery therapist and loves working with people with Parkinson's Community Exercise Group at the SMC Wellness Center. Anna's favorite part of her job is building personal and meaningful relationships with her patients. Anna grew up and lives in Oakland, Iowa and enjoys living and working in the rural communities of Southwest Iowa. She enjoys golfing, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Physical Therapist

Jake Stryker, PT, DPT, ATC

Jake Stryker joined Shenandoah Medical Center in September of 2021 after receiving his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from South College in Knoxville, TN. He has a background in sports medicine, receiving a master's degree in athletic training from the University of Nebraska Omaha and practicing as an athletic trainer in the Omaha area. He enjoys treating a variety of conditions, with a particular interest in orthopedic and vestibular conditions including sports injuries, concussions, dizziness, headaches, and neck pain. Jake has specialized training in dry needling and blood flow restriction training, and enjoys incorporating these techniques into patient care when appropriate. In his free time, Jake enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Becky Lang, PTA

Becky is a southwest Iowa native, residing in Sidney with her husband, Aaron, and daughters, Rylee and Reagan. She graduated from Clarkson College in 2009, earning her Physical Therapist Assistant license and has been practicing in rural health since. She has been a part of the SMC family since 2012. Although she treats a wide range of patients she enjoys working with pediatrics, shoulder, and inpatients the most. She is certified in PWR! Moves Parkinson's program, which is a Parkinson's-specific exercise program that works to improve neuroplasticity and slow the progression of Parkinson's Disease. With this certification, Becky also assists with Parkinson's support group. She will also soon be becoming certified in DMI therapy, which is a therapeutic technique used in physical and occupational therapy to treat children with motor delay by improving automatic postural responses and promoting progress towards developmental milestones. Outside of work you can find her enjoying the sunshine, family, and food!
